Advisory Committees

Think Career Tech - Think Partnerships

Hundreds of local business professionals volunteer their expertise each year to help the Upper Valley Career Center remain on the cutting edge of industry-specific technology, training, and education. Students directly benefit from this input while in school as they prepare for their future career and workforce entry. Employers benefit through direct access to potential employees who have been trained and are motivated to pursue a career in their field.

This win-win scenario is the basis for Upper Valley Career Center's years of success and meaningful community impact.

Knowledge and Experience

Advisory Committees meet twice each school year. Some Advisory Committee members visit labs, interact with students, and assist with recruitment efforts, while others are involved as apprentice sponsors or hire advanced or early placement candidates. We believe the more you know about career and technical education at Upper Valley Career Center, the more your company and the community can benefit.

Get Involved

If you or your company would like to join the career tech movement and assist on an advisory committee, please contact the Upper Valley Career Center at 937.778.1980 and ask to speak to the program instructor that aligns with your industry. We are all more successful together!

2018 OSBA Business Honor Roll

The Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education recognized the following businesses for their continued support of the school district.
  • Nidec Minster
  • Ohio Living Dortothy Love
  • Rieck Services
  • Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services

The companies were honored as part of the Ohio School Boards Association’s (OSBA) 2018 Business Honor Roll program which gives school districts a way to say thank you to local businesses for their valuable contributions to schools.

“These companies are valued, long-time supporters of Upper Valley Career Center,” said Dr. Nancy Luce, Superintendent. “Examples of their contributions include serving on advisory committees, hiring our graduates, sponsoring apprenticeships, and providing early placement opportunities for seniors. Upper Valley Career Center students, board members, administrators, and staff would like to express our sincere appreciation for all they do.”
