New Members Inducted

Piqua, OH: The Upper Valley Career Center inducted 60 new members into the National Technical Honor Society on Monday, November 6, 2017. Jason Haak, Executive Director, and Matt Meyer, Student Services Director, visited each of the five Career and Technical Student Organizations to announce the honors and conduct the induction ceremony. A reception honoring the NTHS students was held immediately following the induction ceremonies. Representative from each of the associate high schools were invited to attend the reception to congratulate their students.

Haak says, “We are so proud of the 61 young adults that were inducted in the National Technical Honor Society.” He adds that these students exemplify the seven attributes of Skill, Honesty, Service, Responsibility, Scholarship, Citizenship and Leadership required to be a member. “Their commitment to obtain a 98% attendance rate while demonstrating superior scholastic achievements shows that they are ready for the workforce,” Haak concludes.


Haak told new inductees that Upper Valley has been an NTHS member since 1992. The 2017 Upper Valley Career Center inductees are as follows:

Anna High School: Blake Ike, Manufacturing and Machining Technologies; Macey Richard, Cosmetology; Parker Russell, Electrical Trades; Brooke Werling, Cosmetology.

Bradford High School:  Kurt Hoover, HVAC/R Technologies; Maia Stump, Culinary Arts; Bailey Wysong; Teacher Academy.

Botkins High School: Edward Kill, Aerospace Occupations; Matthew Oellerman, Manufacturing and Machining Technologies.

Covington High School: Bradley Brown, Auto Collision Repair Technologies; Brittany Daniel, Environmental Occupations; Bryce Keiser, Early Childhood Education and Care; Brandon Martin, Aerospace Occupations; Zoe Mullen, Interactive Media; Michael         Retz, Ag and Power Technologies.
