The Upper Valley Career Center (UVCC) is preparing to welcome students back to campus for the 2026-27 school year. All new students will begin on Thursday, August 20, with all students reporting to school on Friday, August 21. The school day begins at 8:23 am and ends at 2:44 pm. Students are able to enter the building as early as 7:55 am.
Schedule Pick-Up Day
All enrolled students will receive a Schedule Pick-Up Day (SPUD) packet in the mail with the information needed for back to school by early August. The annual Schedule Pick-Up Day will be held Tuesday, August 18 from 12:00 -7:00 pm on the main campus.
"There is always some excitement and a few nerves that come with the start of a new school year, especially for juniors who are coming to UVCC for the first time," said UVCC Executive Director Michelle Brunson. "Schedule Pick-Up Day gives students a chance to meet their instructors, pick up what they need, and become familiar with the building before classes begin. We hope it helps them feel a little more comfortable and confident on their first day."
For this open house, students should enter the building and go directly to their career tech lab to talk with their instructors and receive their schedules. After that, students will have the opportunity to get acclimated with the campus, find their academic classrooms, pick up uniforms, and complete anything else they need in order to begin school. To help families prepare for the new school year, Kroger Health will be onsite during the event offering vaccinations, including the required meningococcal vaccine for seniors. This provides a convenient opportunity for students to meet Ohio's immunization requirements before the start of the school year. Other routine vaccinations will also be available if desired.
Traffic Pattern and Parking
Student drivers and school buses will follow a similar pattern as in past years - entering at the south entrance by Edison State Community College. Students will park in the designated lot in the back of the school.
A dedicated lane is available solely for students being driven to and from school. This pick-up/drop-off lane is located on the north side of the school off Looney Road at UVCC’s Adult Technology Center. Please use this area ONLY when dropping off your student to help with traffic efficiency.
Maps of the traffic patterns are posted on the school’s website. Please review with your student prior to the first day of school.
